Melon and Watermelon Dessert

1 organic honey dew melon
1 organic watermelon
Greek yogurt

Slice honey dew into fourths
Cut eight watermelon disks (two per slice of honey dew)
Stack one watermelon disk into each of the flesh sides of honey dew
Top each with Greek yogurt
Add the second disk 
Top again with a bit more Greek yogurt

Serve aside delicious gourmet cookies for those extra special meals.

Do you remember the fable "The Ants and the Grasshopper" by Aesop?  It is not only important to be prepared for winter, it is important to be prepared for other acts of nature.

It is important to have three kits:  one for home, one for work, and one for the car.  Include water pouches when putting together emergency kits (exempli gratia Datrex emergency water packets).  Keep the expiration dates of non-perishable goods in your emergency kits on your calendar.


 


Three-day supply of non-perishable food.
Three-day supply of water - one gallon of water per person, per day.
Portable, battery-powered radio or television and extra batteries.
Flashlight and extra batteries.
First aid kit and manual.
Sanitation and hygiene items.
Matches and waterproof container.
Whistle.
Extra clothing.
Kitchen accessories and cooking utensils, including a can opener.
Photocopies of credit and identification cards.
Cash and coins.
Special needs items, such as prescription medications, eye glasses, contact lens solutions, and hearing aid batteries.
Items for infants, such as formula, diapers, bottles, and pacifiers.
Other items to meet your unique family needs.
Cookies will keep stored in the freezer for four months.

Wild Watermelon Salad





Print and add the following recipe to your cookbook

Watermelon Salad
by Jesse Bluma

Ingredients
watermelon
black oil cured olives
feta cheese
1 organic lemon
2 bunches of organic watercress 
olive oil
coarse sea salt


Instructions
Cut up the watermelon into medium size discs, approximately 2 1/4" diameter, 1" height.  
Remove the olive pits and tear in half.
Roll the lemon, then squeeze the lemon into the bowl.
Add salt and olive oil to taste, then mix.
Add the cheese and mix.
Mix the olives, cheese, lemon, watercress, olive oil, and salt.
Plate the watermelon discs, topping with the cheese, olive, and watercress mixture.  
Serve and enjoy!
