Fountain Valley Living Magazine will host the second annual Orange County Chocolate Festival November 4-5 in Fountain Valley featuring chocolate and wine tasting.
The chocolate festival was created last November by Lynn Seeden,48, and her husband Curt Seeden, 59, to raise money for the Fountain Valley Community Foundation.
The foundation assists community groups like the Boys and Girls Club, fund raising for local schools and funding for senior citizen lunches within the city. Last year, the Orange County Chocolate Festival raised $8,000.
The couple started Fountain Valley Living Magazine in 2009 after leaving their city editor positions at the Orange County Register. The magazine, which is a free monthly publication, takes an in-depth look at the culture and community members in Fountain Valley.
“It’s solely a magazine about the people in Fountain Valley,” Lynn Seeden said.
Lynn Seeden said she wanted to create an event that would be beneficial and fun for the community and thus, the idea for the Orange County Chocolate Festival was born.
“The chocolate festival is not an educational experience,” Lynn Seeden said. “It’s a big party.”
Lynn Seeden said she anticipates selling 2,000 tickets to the event based on last year’s attendance.
About 70 chocolatiers, bakers, candy makers and wine vendors are expected to make an appearance at the event.
Guests have the option of purchasing either general admission tickets for $25 or VIP tickets for $50. With the general admission passes, guests will be entitled to eight chocolate samples and tastings and three wine tastings. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased at the event.
Guests that purchase the VIP tickets will celebrate the festival in a private party room. VIP guests will be offered hors d’ oeuvres and unlimited chocolate tastings.
The event will be held at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center at 16400 Brookhurst Street from 5-9 p.m. on Nov. 4 and noon-9 p.m. Nov. 5. Tickets can be purchased online here.
