ORANGE COUNTY CHAINE DES ROTISSEURS TO HOST FUNDRAISING DINNER
Thursday, October 06, 2011
On Sunday, October 9th, the four Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs Orange County Chapters will host a fundraising dinner to create a new endowment to benefit students in OCC’s Culinary Arts Program. The Chaine chapters have formed a Chef’s Committee to create a menu and prepare the meal, assisted by OCC culinary arts students.
Each chef and a team of students will be responsible for one course of the meal. The chefs and students will visit the Santa Monica Farmers Market to shop for the ingredients needed to produce the menu. Each group will work in the kitchen of their assigned executive chef to prepare the dinner. On the day of the event, all of the participants will work in the OCC Student Center kitchen to prepare and present their course. Additional students will be involved in setting up and serving the dinner for 120 guests.
A 6:00 p.m. reception with hors d’oeuvres will precede the dinner. The Student Center will be completely decorated in a harvest theme for this gala event. Dress is business attire, and Chaine members will display their colorful ribbons of office. The cost is $125 per person; a silent auction including large format bottle wines will precede the dinner.
The Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs was founded in Paris, France, in 1950 and is represented in more than 80 countries. There are 131 Bailliages (chapters) in the United States. They hold dining events, wine tastings, demonstrations and educational events. The Chaine Foundation will provide matching funds to help meet the goal of $20,000 for the endowment.
For information on the Chaine tickets and silent auction donations, please email Chuck Pifer at Chuck@cosmoscellars.com or visit www.chaineocriviera.com to make a donation or purchase tickets.
