David Garcia Sports Foundation
"Garcia Sport Foundation is a non-profit organization that is allied to FIKISHA Kenya, to reach kids from the slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Through sports and education, Garcia's Sport Program offers the kids an opportunity to grow intellectually and spiritually, so they can reach out to their community and their families."
Garcia Sports Program was started by David Garcia, graduate of Concordia University, Irvine. My grandfather actually helped in the founding of Concordia (originally Christ College). A few months ago I talked with David about Concordia, his foundation, and Costa Rica, his birth place and one of my favorite places to travel. Garcia "prepped at Rodrigo Hernandez Vargas High School in Costa Rica, graduating in 2009 ... Played on year on varsity team, while devoting majority of time to club soccer.
