Homemade Cereal

Have you read the ingredients of the cereal in your cabinet?  If you are looking for an excellent alternative to those multi-syllable ingredients, simply follow the directions below.  This recipe is perfect with milk, spooned on top of Greek yogurt, or bagged for your next hike.  Print this page and add it to your notebook of favorites.  

Homemade Cereal

3 cups oats (quick rolled oats)
1/4 cup coconut
1/4 cup turbinado sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup Smart Balance® Light Original Buttery Spread with Flax
1/8 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 F.  
Mix the ingredients by hand in a large bowl, until well combined.
  Spoon the mixture on to a sheet pan, flat.  
Bake at 350 F for 18-20 minutes.
  Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
 If you enjoy hot cereal, carefully serve warm from the oven.
