Where to Toast and Dine: Mister Lyons and Seymour’s Review

Make the scene at Mister Lyons, named in honor of the previous restaurant owner, located in the south end of town. Positioned along the famous curve in the road on East Canyon Drive; a short distance from the iconic Ace hotel, Saguaro, shops, and local businesses. Mr. Lyons has the lounge for a casual happy hour experience after a day in the pool or long day at work. Or the steakhouse for a regal dinner in one of the two private dining rooms.
“It’s the beginning of a new era. Come taste the New Classic at Mr. Lyons, where we give steak a conscientious modern update with a menu that puts local small farms first.
You may know our space, family-owned and operated for over 70 years by David Lyons as Lyons English Grill. Reimagined in 2015 by Tara Lazar, Mr. Lyons is the newest offering from the Foundation 10 family, taking the same attention to detail we’ve brought to Cheeky’s, Birba and Alcazar to a new vista on the South end of town.
Evoking the old Hollywood glamour that Palm Springs is famous for, our dining salon is black and white marble, wood, brass, and luxurious velvet booths; a fine dining experience steeped in classic elegance.”
Mr. Lyons is part of the Foundation 10 group, including Cheeky’s, Birba, and Alcazar. Owner and hotelier Tara Lazar is inspired by classics as well as modern interpretations of food and drink. Lazar’s respect and use of small farm ingredients, local produce, and classics is admirable. Mr. Lyons is one luxe dining experience to remember.
After dinner or happy hour in the lounge use your detective skills to find the speakeasy in Mr. Lyons, called Seymour’s. This secret room harkens back to an English manor. Step up to the bar and enjoy watching the mixologists or have a seat at one of the cozy tables. Outside of Seymour’s, named in honor of Lazar’s father, is a mid-century patio with a bocce ball court.
Several items on the menu stand out after several visits.
